She followed the script — the education, the career, the family, the titles, the carefully maintained image of a woman who had it all together. She led teams. She developed leaders. She built frameworks and filled journals and asked brilliant questions on behalf of everyone around her while quietly avoiding the most important question of her own life.
Why am I here?
She had been asking it since she was a little girl wandering through the woods behind her house in Darlington, South Carolina, listening for the cowbell that called her home.
She just didn't know that was what the question meant.

It's a story of loss and awakening. Of a marriage ending. A job lost. A season of solitude that became something holy. Of grief becoming a classroom, shame meeting grace, and a woman discovering that God was not waiting for her to write a story. He was writing one through her all along.

Meet Scott
Scott is the founder of The Humanity Hack Project — a movement dedicated to rehumanizing the way we live, lead, and love. Drawing from decades in leadership development, her own hard-won journey through loss and awakening, and a growing body of work exploring the connection between God, self, and others, Scott speaks, coaches, and writes about the one thing she believes our world most urgently needs:
Real connection. With ourselves. With each other. With God.
She lives in South Carolina, where she is still listening for the cowbell.
